Operating session on outdoor division of Bearspaw Southern.
Openings are available for up to 12 train Operating crew positions, plus tower operators for Somnia, Glacier yard, and Wye Knot. The layout is entirely battery and radio control operated. (No track power).
Goal is to coordinate running multiple trains and evaluate timing for switching and passing operations at major industry and town destinations. Car card (Waybill ) and Train Order dispatching systems are under development and this session will help evaluate the relative potential of both systems for this railroad.
Train crews must accompany their locomotive so moderate exercise is expected. The limited number of tower operator positions are available for less mobile crews.
If hesitant to operate, please feel free to come and just observe. There are comfortable locations to sit and just watch trains.
The Swarner’s will have light snacks and drinks available throughout the afternoon. Registration is appreciated so the Swarner’s can plan for approximate number of attendees and participants.
